Ukraine Family Scheme in the UK

Because of the terrible events in Ukraine the Home Office has created a new dedicated UK visa route for Ukrainian nationals and their family members. It is called the Ukraine Family Scheme and it is running in parallel with the standard family visa routes, but the rules are easier.

Those who have a family relationship with a person settled in the UK (ie a British citizen, or somebody with settlement status, or somebody who holds refugee or humanitarian protection status) may be able to apply. There is no financial requirement and no English language requirement.

But, very importantly, where the application is based on a family relationship, the relationship must have begun before 1 January 2022.

If the application is successful leave is granted for three years and in confers the right to work or study. And, unlike with the standard family visa rules, there is no visa application fee and there is the right to access public funds for which the migrant qualifies.
